Community Groups

The life and ministry of Catalyst Church, in a neighborhood near you.

Fall community groups will be kicking off the week of September 10, 2017!

Our community groups are a great way to connect with others at Catalyst, and are offered at a variety of times and locations. Check out the details below, and send one of our leaders an email to get plugged in.

Childcare: Each group handles childcare differently so be sure to check with your leader. Catalyst provides financial reimbursement for those needing to secure their own childcare. Check with your leader for more info.

(MEN) Monday Nights– 6:45pm – Romans

Men, one of the greatest needs of your life is to dig deeply into God’s Word with other men. Paul’s letter to the Christians in Rome has long been recognized as a treasure chest of gospel truth inviting exploration and revealing God. Join other men, through the ministry of Bible Study International (BSF), at Temple Baptist Church in Newport News on Monday Nights at 6:45pm.  Email Jeff Mingee ( for more info or register online for the class.

Every week, men 18 years of age and older come together to study the Bible, learn from one another and be challenged and encouraged to live for something larger than themselves.

(Women) Wednesday Nights – 6;30pm

This group will be reading through The Cry of the Soul by Dan Allendar and Tremper Longman.  All emotion―whether positive or negative―can give us a glimpse of the true nature of God. We want to control our negative emotions and dark desires. God wants us to recognize them as the cry of our soul to be made right with Him. Beginning with the Psalms, Cry of the Soul explores what Scripture says about our darker emotions and points us to ways of honoring God as we faithfully embrace the full range of our emotional life. // For more info email Chaney Flahive (

(Williamsburg) Thursday Nights – 7pm
